I would have liked to take Konrad’s support again in the onboarding of my project to switch company, industry, culture and position again, but Coaching is not appreciated in the new environment. I highly recommend Konrad as a coach for experienced Senior Managers who are committed to improving the results of their work. He will not help you, if you do not really, really want it and work for it. Including challenging oneself. I still use many methodologies, slides, examples etc. that I started to learn from him 8 years ago, especially around team management.

My coaching assignment was initially for 12 months when I took over the position of the Managing Director at Unger Germany GmbH. The coaching went very well and as a result I offered Konrad a position as Board Advisor. In addition I kept him as my personal coach/advisor as well and meet him every quarter to discuss top-level topics. Konrad has great business knowledge from many different areas. He seems to have seen everything from smaller to large companies and he was an entrepreneur himself with his own start-ups. He has the ability to understand his “coachee” also on an emotional level and is very supportive. He works very solution and target oriented and - although he understands the “big picture” – is able to come up with very specific support.

How would you describe his professionalism and effectiveness?

Konrad has the highest professional standards without being “unapproachable” in his position as coach. Working with him is always fruitful and very effective. No detours, no unnecessary talking, just straight to the point. The way he works is not to give you the solution, but to coach you how to come to an own solution so you can use the knowledge yourself for future challenges.

Objectives of the coaching were clearly met and Konrad Lenniger’s contribution was an integral part of it. We jointly worked on a target profile of me in my current role, my leadership style as well as aspects of my positioning and reputation within various stakeholder groups. From feedback I got in the meantime about myself, my style and other aspects, I have clear evidence that the coaching was effective and objectives were met.

I appreciate Konrad Lenniger as a trustworthy and honest individual, calm yet inspiring in his communication. His work style is very result focused with an ability to adapt his approach flexibly, however, never getting off track regarding the overall target. He is able to listen actively and very strong in identifying and prioritizing the key aspects behind an issue. While expecting significant self-contribution from a coachee, he in an effective manner adds his own experience/ suggestions and sometimes guidance to a discussion – in my view a perfect mix.  

Besides executive coaching methodology, Konrad Lenniger is able to contribute significant business experience, international perspective and seniority to his work. For me it was very important to work with a coach not only able to add theory and structure to a coaching process but much more to add a perspective based on him having been in relevant situations himself. I never had the feeling that he was applying a standard methodology only. In fact, I got the impression that his approach was highly tailored to my specific situation. All activities we worked on added valuable pieces until the full target picture was established and objectives were met.

Another important positive aspect is Konrad Lenniger’s credibility at top management level. As part of our focus coaching, 2 rounds of interviews were conducted by him with select C-level executives including the CEO. I am convinced that the seniority and credibility, which Konrad Lenniger displays, was instrumental in getting crucial insights from interviewed C-level executives as input for my focus coaching.

How would you describe his professionalism and effectiveness?

 

I experienced Konrad Lenniger as someone highly professional in all interactions and very effective in his coaching style. I also received positive feedback on interactions he had with several senior stakeholders as part of the focus coaching approach, i.e. in the above mentioned C-level interviews. 

Konrad Lenniger was always well prepared, reliably kept his commitments and expects the same from a coachee. In combination, these characteristics contributed positively to an effective coaching process and to the significant progress I was able to make in less than a year.

Was Konrad supportive and challenging?

 

Konrad Lenniger can be very challenging, yet has a good sense for knowing when it is effective. He would only challenge after understanding a situation and when a coachee is prepared for it. I got to know him as someone able to challenge with increasing intensity, i.e. pushing the bar constantly higher. He is able to convey “the full and sometimes painful truth” in a very honest manner to then support a coachee in positively dealing with it, i.e. triggering conclusions and action items. As such, I clearly see a great ability to be challenging and supportive at the same time.

I had a great learning experience with Konrad Lenniger and can strongly recommend him as an executive coach. While working with him is challenging and demanding, it at the same time is fun, which in my view is crucial for achieving great results.
